Homes that tell a story. Not just fill a space.
Some people want perfectly staged homes. We’re more interested in creating real homes that feel warm, layered, personal, and deeply connected to the people who live there. Here's a sample of our work.

Featured Projects
Three homes, three distinct narratives — each designed around atmosphere, individuality, and the lives unfolding within them. Though each project speaks a different design language, all seek to create environments that reflect the personality of those who live there and enrich the experience of everyday life.
Short North Penthouse embraces a modern approach with open spaces, natural light, and quiet restraint.
Triplett Haus explores richer color, warmth, and a contemporary lodge sensibility rooted in comfort and collected character.
Museum District House takes a more art-forward direction — layered with objects, history, and curated maximalism.

Short North Penthouse
We designed this contemporary penthouse to feel fresh, clean, and deeply inviting while maintaining a layered sense of warmth and personality. Expansive windows — intentionally selected to maximize natural light throughout the home — flood the interiors with brightness and create an airy openness that defines the overall atmosphere.
We also developed an open-plan layout that allowed for four distinct seating and gathering areas throughout the main living space, enabling the family to remain connected — even while entertaining guests — while still allowing each person space to relax, converse, read, or unwind independently.
We oversaw flooring selection, kitchen design, furniture planning, paint and lighting selections, and the sourcing and curation of all furnishings, artwork, and decorative objects throughout the residence. A restrained neutral palette allowed us to introduce bold original modern paintings and collected artwork throughout the home, creating moments of contrast, character, and visual depth without overwhelming the clean architectural backdrop.
While much of our work embraces layered and richly collected interiors, this project demonstrates our ability to create a lighter, more refined aesthetic rooted in simplicity, balance, and natural light — tailored specifically to the lifestyle and vision of the homeowner.
Room Highlights
Elevated Dining
Designed as both a gathering space and visual anchor, the dining room pairs sculptural seating with clean lines and soft contrast. Generous natural light and curated elements create a setting that feels refined yet approachable.
Lounge
Designed as part of the penthouse’s larger open-plan living concept, this relaxed penthouse lounge was created to feel modern, comfortable, and deeply livable — a flexible space for reading, conversation, entertaining, or quiet evenings with a cocktail while still remaining visually connected to the surrounding living areas.
Expansive windows flood the room with natural light throughout the day, while a restrained neutral palette allowed us to introduce bold original paintings and contemporary artwork throughout the space. A layered tray ceiling and oversized custom light fixture help define the lounge architecturally within the open floor plan, while playful elements, layered textiles, sculptural furnishings, and collected objects add warmth, contrast, and personality without overwhelming the clean architectural backdrop.
Family Room
Designed as a large-scale gathering space for everyday family living and movie nights, this media lounge balances comfort, warmth, and architectural presence within the penthouse’s open-plan layout.
Custom wood-paneled walls anchor the room and help define the expansive space, while the oversized 80-inch flatscreen, layered furnishings, and collected artwork create an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and elevated. The design was intentionally developed to encourage gathering and connection while still maintaining the refined contemporary aesthetic carried throughout the home.
Kitchen
Designed as part of the penthouse’s layered open-plan living concept, this kitchen balances sleek contemporary finishes with warmth, texture, and livability. Dark wood cabinetry, richly veined stone surfaces, rustic hardwood flooring, and carefully layered lighting create a space that feels refined yet inviting.
The oversized island was intentionally designed to function as both a practical workspace and a central gathering point within the home, allowing the kitchen to remain visually connected to the surrounding dining and living areas.
Reading Nook
Designed as a quiet retreat within the penthouse’s larger open-plan layout, this reading nook was positioned to take full advantage of the expansive windows and sweeping park views beyond. The goal was to create a calm, light-filled corner where the homeowners could read, relax, or enjoy quiet moments while still remaining visually connected to the surrounding living spaces.
Warm wood tones, layered textures, collected artwork, and restrained contemporary furnishings create an atmosphere that feels both refined and inviting, while the dramatic ceiling lines and oversized windows reinforce the architectural openness carried throughout the penthouse.
Open Living Concept
Designed to encourage connection and ease of movement throughout the penthouse, the open-plan layout allows the kitchen, dining, lounging, and reading areas to remain visually connected while still functioning as distinct environments within the home. The design was intentionally developed so family members could all remain together within one expansive shared space while still having the freedom to read, converse, work, relax, or entertain independently.
Expansive windows flood the interiors with natural light, while a restrained neutral palette, layered furnishings, and curated artwork create warmth and visual depth throughout the space. The oversized kitchen island serves as both a functional workspace and a central gathering point anchoring the surrounding living areas.

Triplett Haus
Triplett Haus was a full-scale new construction project in which we worked closely with the homeowners from the earliest stages of the build, guiding every major design decision throughout the home. The vision was to create a modern hunting lodge with an elevated and elegant sensibility — balancing rustic warmth and collected character with clean lines, refined silhouettes, and contemporary comfort.
We assisted in selecting every major finish and furnishing throughout the home, including large-format rustic hardwood flooring, paint colors, lighting, furniture planning, and the sourcing and curation of all artwork and decorative objects. Much of the artwork was sourced from local artists, allowing the home to feel rooted, original, and deeply personal to the clients.
Throughout the interiors, rustic touches including antlers, taxidermy, rich wood tones, and vintage and antique finds were intentionally balanced against cleaner contemporary elements such as sleek white wingback chairs from Restoration Hardware, tailored upholstery, and refined lighting selections. Furnishings were layered to avoid a one-note showroom feel, combining new retail pieces from RH and Pottery Barn with carefully sourced vintage and antiques finds like the coffee tables, side tables, bookcases, and collected decorative objects.
The result is a home that feels warm, curated, and deeply lived in — sophisticated enough to feel elevated, yet comfortable enough for everyday family life and gathering. Think affluent Texan.
Room Highlights
Vaulted Great Room
Designed as the heart of the home, this vaulted great room was envisioned as a modern hunting lodge with an undercurrent of clean elegance — balancing rustic warmth with a more refined and elevated aesthetic. Layered textures, tailored furnishings, and collected vintage and antique elements were paired with clean-lined silhouettes to create a space that feels sophisticated, welcoming, and deeply livable.
Oversized windows and soaring ceilings flood the room with natural light, while the fireplace anchors the space and encourages gathering, conversation, and quiet evenings at home. Leather seating, antler accents, and rich wood tones introduce the lodge-inspired character, while elegant wingback chairs, tailored silk drapery, and curated artwork soften the atmosphere and bring a sense of polish and restraint to the overall design.
Dining & Library Room
This dining and library space was envisioned as a room that could evolve throughout the day — serving equally well for formal dinners, quiet reading, conversation, or evening drinks with friends.
Deep wine-toned walls bring warmth and intimacy to the space, while tailored dining chairs, layered artwork, and built-in bookcases create a collected and intellectual atmosphere. Rustic textures and traditional elements are balanced by cleaner lines and refined detailing, allowing the room to feel rich and inviting without becoming overly formal.
Modern Lodge
Traditional lodge influences are reimagined through a more refined and curated lens. Original modern paintings, antlers and layered textures preserve the warmth and character of a lodge aesthetic, while long silk draperies soften the architecture and frame the lush landscape views beyond. Comfortable furnishings invite gathering and ease, balancing rustic character with elegance and modern restraint.
Wine Tasting Room
This wine tasting room was envisioned as an intimate gathering space for long conversations, evening drinks, and relaxed entertaining.
Unlike the more restrained palette found throughout other areas of the home, this room embraces a layered mix of luxurious patterns, rich color, and collected textures — pattern on pattern on pattern — creating a more immersive and atmospheric experience. Deep moody walls, patterned upholstery, vintage-inspired furnishings, original artwork, and sculptural decorative objects all work together to give the room warmth, personality, and depth.
Extra-comfortable lounge seating and the sofa were intentionally selected to encourage guests to settle in and linger over wine, conversation, and music late into the evening, while the tailored architectural details and curated styling maintain a sense of refinement and balance throughout the space.
Grand Stair Hall
This view of the vaulted great room highlights the dramatic three-story staircase and the layered architectural character of the space. Warm wood tones, tailored furnishings, and a gallery wall of the client’s photographs create a sense of comfort and sophistication, while the soaring ceiling heights and open sightlines reinforce the home’s expansive and welcoming atmosphere.
The combination of rustic textures, leather seating, sculptural lighting, and refined silhouettes was intentionally curated to feel elevated yet deeply livable — creating a gathering space that feels both impressive and intimate.

Museum District House
The vision for Museum District House across from the Museum of Fine Art in Houston, Texas was to create an interior that felt collected, soulful, and deeply personal — a home shaped less by a single style and more by the gradual layering of objects, art, materials, and experiences over time. Rather than pursuing a highly formal or overly minimal approach, the project focused on warmth, individuality, and spaces designed to feel both curated and naturally lived in.
The design language centered around a palette of warm neutrals, natural materials, darker grounding elements, and vintage pieces with age and character. Texture played a defining role throughout the home — from woods and textiles to ceramics, books, sculpture, and collected artwork — creating visual richness without relying on excess.
Movement throughout the home was approached as a sequence of experiences rather than individual rooms. Each space was designed to reveal itself gradually, allowing moments of intimacy, discovery, and contrast to emerge throughout the home. Larger architectural gestures were balanced by smaller, personal details intended to create connection and atmosphere.
The result is a home that feels layered rather than decorated — emphasizing comfort, authenticity, and spaces that evolve naturally over time.
Room Highlights
Grand Entry Hall
Designed as an immersive introduction to the residence, the grand entry hall was layered with collected artwork, historical artifacts, rare books, sculpture, and architectural objects to immediately establish the home’s gallery-like atmosphere. The dramatic staircase and elongated sightlines create a sense of discovery throughout the three-story residence, while warm lighting, antique textures, and richly curated layering give the space both grandeur and intimacy.
2nd Floor Lounge
Designed as an intimate second-floor salon overlooking the residence below, the lounge layers collected sculpture, antique furnishings, original artwork, and warm natural textures to create a quiet sense of refinement within the home’s gallery-like atmosphere.
A large custom arched doorway was introduced to connect the space to a second-story terrace, allowing western light and dramatic sunset views to flood the room throughout the evening. Soft drapery, conversational seating, and carefully curated objects give the space a deeply personal atmosphere intended for reading, reflection, and lingering conversation.
Studiolo Room
Designed as a contemporary interpretation of the historic European studiolo, this intimate retreat was conceived as a space for contemplation, collecting, reading, conversation, and intellectual escape — much like the private rooms once used by Renaissance scholars, collectors, and aristocrats to surround themselves with art, books, artifacts, and objects of personal meaning.
Layered with leather seating, sculpture, rare books, collected artifacts like a leaf from the original 1455 Gutenberg Bible and a pair of game-worn signed Air Jordans from 1986, as well as original artwork, the room balances old-world atmosphere with modern livability. Today, the homeowners use the space exactly as intended: as a quiet refuge for reading, reflection, music, conversation, and evenings spent immersed in the objects and stories that fill the room.
Grand Staircase to 3rd Floor
Conceived as a three-story gallery staircase, the space was intentionally layered with collected artwork, sculpture, antiques, and historical objects to transform vertical circulation into an immersive architectural narrative. A monumental vintage tapestry anchors the ascent while adding warmth, scale, and old-world character against the soaring 50-foot open staircase.
Expansive sightlines, warm wood tones, and curated vignettes create a continual sense of discovery throughout the climb, allowing each landing and transition point to function as part of the home’s larger collector-driven story. Rather than serving as a purely functional stair hall, the space was designed to unfold experientially — revealing texture, history, and atmosphere floor by floor.
Equestrian Bedroom Suite
Designed as a richly layered equestrian-inspired retreat, the primary bedroom balances warmth, comfort, and collected character through the use of leather, dark tonal layering, antique furnishings, sculpture, rare books, and oversized equine artwork.
Drawing inspiration from classic European sporting estates and old-world collector interiors, the room was designed to feel intimate and restorative while still maintaining the residence’s larger gallery-like atmosphere. Soft textiles, ambient lighting, and deeply personal collected objects create a space intended equally for retreat, reflection, and everyday living.
Collector's Passage
Created as a gallery-like transition between the living spaces and kitchen, this layered passage was intended to create moments of discovery throughout the home. Collected antiques, rare books, sculpture, and a cabinet of curiosities filled with Pre-Columbian artifacts connected to the homeowner’s heritage bring a deeply personal sense of history and identity to the space, transforming circulation into an immersive experience rather than a purely functional corridor.

We work closely with our clients to shape environments that feel deeply personal—balancing form and function, beauty and livability. Whether it’s a single room or an entire home, our goal is always the same: to create something that feels timeless, grounded, and entirely your own.
